The Brownsville Elective Education (BEE) Program was founded in fall 2005 to bring elective after school education and activities to students of Brownsville Elementary School. The primary goals of the program are:
- Broad curriculum (provide fun and educational classes not offered during the regular school day).
- Convenience (courses are offered right after school at Brownsville).
- Affordability (rates are competitive and scholarships are available). The BEE Program is run by volunteers with Brownsville's PTO and is not operated to make a profit.
Please use this site to learn more about the BEE Program.
BEE Class Offerings, Spring 2025
Classes will start on April 15-16 and run through May 20-21, with makeup classes May 27-28 if needed.
Registration will open on the PTO website at 6:00 am on Tuesday, April 8th. Use the "Forms and Payments" tab above to register.
We strongly recommend registering as soon as possible, as historically a number of BEE classes have sold out quickly. Additionally, when registering, please note the grade eligibility of each class.

We will hold three sessions of the BEE program during the 2024-2025 academic year: fall, winter, and spring. Each session will last for six weeks. Classes will be from 2:30-3:30 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The spring session is scheduled to start April 14-15 and run through the week of May 20-21, with any makeups on May 27-28. Registration will open at 6:00 am ET on Tuesday, April 8th. Please go to the Forms & Payments section of the website to register.
REGISTRATION LIMITS: In order to best serve the largest number of students, parents can only sign up their children for 1 class per child for the first 24 hours after registration opens. Please note that waitlisted classes do not count towards your class, but items in Shopping Carts do. To ensure fairness, we will clear out all shopping carts after 2 hours. We appreciate your cooperation.
TRANSPORTATION: Parents are responsible for picking up their children promptly at 3:30 pm. Please note that parents who are chronically late may have their enrollment cancelled and/or will not be allowed to register their children in future BEE sessions. For students enrolled in BASE on the day(s) that they are in the BEE program, they will go to BASE immediately after the BEE class is over.
SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE. To be considered for a scholarship, please contact admin@brownsvillepto.org. We review all requests and availability as soon as possible.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS. We are unable to offer any refunds once registration closes. If you need to make a change prior to registration closing, please email admin@brownsvillepto.org.
The BEE Program is run by the PTO, not by the school. The school nurse will not be on site. If your child has any medical needs, please communicate that to the BEE Program or your BEE teacher.
BEE Pickup will continue to occur in the pick-up circle. Please keep in mind the following:
LOGISTICS: - Please arrive and line up around the pick-up circle by 3:30 pm for dismissal. Please stay in your car and move your car quickly after your child enters the car so that the pick-up line does not get backed up to 250. If your child cannot buckle, please park and pick up your child in person.
SAFETY:
- Please stay to the right side of the pick-up circle, be very careful and drive slowly when entering and exiting the area. There will be a lot of activity and above all, we want to ensure that all children are safe.
- Do not drive around/over any obstacles to leave the school and ensure that your children are all “buckled-up” before pulling out from the circle.
- We know many of you. However, if we are unsure of a person’s identity, we will ask for a picture ID. We appreciate your compliance and understanding if we ask to see your ID.
- The pick-up circle has eight spots and we will direct parents to one of those circles. We will only allow children to enter cars if they are in one of these eight spots.
- Please remain in your cars to ensure a smooth check-out process. Children should enter their car in the back of the passenger side. If for any reason a child may need to enter on the driver car side, the child should walk in front of their car and not behind for safety.
- If you are late for BEE check-out and nobody is at the pick-up circle, please meet your child inside by the front office.
Please note that if you are consistently late picking up your child, you will not be allowed to register your child in future BEE classes.
